The Sony SDHC Card Adapter allows you to record XDCAM Footage (PMW-EX1 camera or EX3, PMW-F3 camera) onto SDHC media cards.  The immediate reason that you would choose to do this is because SDHC cards are much less expensive than Sony SxS cards.  They can also be used to clone backups of a Sony SxS card in camera before handing the footage off to your downloader.

These adapters can record 60 fps slow motion at full resolution without issues.  The transfer rate between the memory card and your computer will be slower than that of an SxS card, but this is not an issue for actual filming.

Sony provides the following warning:  "Recommended for emergency use only".  We suggest that if every shot is of upmost importance to your production, then the safer route is to use Sony SxS media cards.
