Production Junction is owned by cameramen Chris Edwards and Dave McGrath, and is the only camera rental shop in NYC operated by professional cinematographers.
CHRIS EDWARDS began his cinematography career in 1998 with a bang shooting the first all digital film "Wild Ambition" which landed him a meeting with Michael August of the William Morris Agency. The next two years he immersed himself in the early days of "digital video" and went on to establish Production Junction which has become the premiere camera rental shop for filmmakers from students to Academy Award winners. Since launching Production Junction he has lensed various features and commercials while servicing his growing business. His most recent film as cinematographer "Vegas: Based on a True Story" premiered in the main narrative competition at both the Venice Film Festival (competing against other American Films "The Hurt Locker" and "The Wrestler") and going on to the main narrative competition at the Tribeca Film Festival.
Due to the success of his camera rental business has allowed him to remain on the cutting edge of camera technology. He also enjoys working with camera vendors to use best practices and allow cinematographers to exceed expectations for their productions. On occasion he steps away from his business to work on an interesting project - taking full advantage of not only his camera arsenal - but also the pooled knowledge of the best cinematographers today.
DAVE McGRATH also attended Colgate University and met Chris through the Alumni Association. Upon graduation he moved to LA to read scripts for Village Roadshow and then left to become an on-air reporter in Binghamton, NY. After yearning to get back to story telling he moved to NYC where he met Chris and they immediately hit it off. Their common interest being to network and create with other filmmakers sharing resources and working towards a common goal. Dave quickly got the bug to be behind the camera and was shooting commercials for Burlington Coat Factory, Disney and making his own short films. Excited about the possibility of Production Junction started only a few years earlier, Chris and Dave partnered in Production Junction and have never looked back.
As a team Chris and Dave have a reputation as going the extra mile, understanding the vagaries of their clients productions and taking enjoyment in seeing their clients success.
