The all star team of Miguel, Govinda, and I were reunited this weekend on set. We shot with the same camera packages as the recent Michael Bay film, Pain and Gain - the Red Epic and GoPRo Hero3. But unlike Bay's set, we had 3 Mark Wahlberg's.

This was my first shoot with the Red Epic camera and it performed great. Both days were hot, outside shooting, and the camera didn't have any issues with overheating. We kept the fan at 100% since we weren't recording audio, which helped a lot I'm sure. We used Canon L series prime lenses, relying on the 50mm (1.2) over half of the time. Screw on variable ND filters were a must and allowed us to keep the Epic at native ISO 800 while setting the Canon lenses at wide open.

The shoot was a lot of fun and I look forward to shooting on the Epic more.

-Dave
